Some More Effects Of God’s Salvation

The effects of true Christianity are spiritual in nature. Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, transforms the Christian from the inside out. The Bible says in Romans 14:17: “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit).”

Bible commentator Adam Clarke describes the effects of true Christianity, as found in Romans 14:17:

Righteousness: Pardon of sin, and holiness of heart and life.

Peace: In the soul, from a sense of God’s mercy; peace regulating, ruling and harmonizing the heart.

Joy in the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit): Solid spiritual happiness; a joy which springs from a clear sense of God’s mercy; the love of God being shed abroad in the heart by the Holy Ghost (Romans 5:5). In a word, it is happiness brought into the soul by the Holy Spirit, and maintained there by the same influence (of the Holy Spirit).

The Bible says elsewhere: “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.” – Isaiah 32:17

From these words, found in the Book of Isaiah the Prophet, we learn that a truly righteous life produces an inner quietness of the soul and an assurance that what the Bible teaches is really true, for the Christian has experienced the reality of this peace. The world can never give this type of peace because it does not know Jesus Christ, the Savior.

Reader, you can freely partake of the peace of God, which can satisfy the hunger of your soul. The Bible invites you to “taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man (or woman) that trusteth in him” (Psalm 34:8). God can do for you so much more than you can ever dream of, but He leaves the final decision up to you. Ask Him, in the Name of Jesus, to transform your life from the inside out and you will experience the reality of the peace of God.

“Now unto him (God, through Jesus) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (by the Holy Spirit).” – Ephesians 3:20
