I must live today as though it were my last day.

Never neglect daily private prayer. When you pray, remember that you are talking to God (1 Jn. 5:14). Pray vocally or silently during the day. Lift up your thoughts often to God for needed grace, help and comfort. Pray always and continue in prayer, thus constantly finding God’s grace to help you. – Phil. 4:6; 1 Thess. 5:17; Heb. 4:16
Never neglect daily private Bible reading. When you read, remember that God is talking t0 you. You should say, “Speak Lord, for thy servant heareth.” Commit to memory everyday a verse of the Bible containing a promise, prayer or precept. Think often about it. Pray that you might understand what you read (Psa. 119:11, 18, 97; Luke 24:45). Backsliding in heart, if not in life, soon follows the neglect of, or the slighting of, private devotions.
Never let a day pass without doing something for Jesus. Try to win a soul for Him. Speak a word for Jesus whenever you
can. Y0u are not your own — you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Cor. 6:19-20). Present yourselves a living sacrifice to God (Rom. 12:1-2). “Lord, what will thou have me to do?” (Acts 9:6).“Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it” (Jn. 2:5). Every night reflect on what Jesus has done for you. Then ask yourself, “What have I done for Him?” – Mt. 5:16
If you are in doubt as to the right or wrong of anything, say to yourself, “Can I ask God’s blessing upon it?” (Col. 3:17). If you cannot, it is wrong. – Rom. 14:21
Never take Christians as your example, nor argue because some do so and so, therefore you may (2 Cor. 10:12). You should always ask yourself, “What would Jesus do?” and strive to follow Him. – Jn. 10:27
Remember the Lord’s Day to keep it holy. Attend church services, Sunday School and weekday meetings. Give to the Lord’s cause from week to week as he hath prospered you. – 1 Cor. 16:1-2; 2 Cor. 9:6-9
Count your mercies daily. Bless the Lord, O my Soul, and forget not all His benefits (Psa. 103). Continually offer to God the sacrifices of praise. – Psa. 107:21- 22; Heb. 13:15
Never doubt God’s love for you. He knows best, and all things are working together for your highest good (Rom. 8:28). Always trust God. Drive temptations, doubts and Satan away by saying, “I believe God,” for He has said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Heb. 13:5). Feed your faith with God’s promises. Never listen to Satan, much less talk with him. Eve did and fell (Gen. 3:1-7). Never be ashamed of Jesus; stand up for Him everywhere. Avoid worldly companions (2 Cor. 6:14-18). If you fall into sin, confess it at once to God and ask for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Christ. – Psa. 32:1-5; 1 Jn. 1:9; 2:1
Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation (1 Pet. 5:8-9). Be clothed with humility (1 Pet. 5:5). By the grace of God you are what you are (1 Cor. 15:10). Cast all your care on God (Mt. 6:25-34; Phil. 4:19; 1 Pet. 5:7). Be content with such things as you have (1 Tim. 6:6-12; Heb. 13:5). Beware of the so-called little sins: foolish thoughts, wrong desires, etc. These are the beginnings of evil. Peter’s self confidence led to the denial of Christ; Judas’ love of money to his betraying Jesus (Mt. 26:14-15; 33-34). Any compromise with the world or neglect of duty is dangerous, for all sin is displeasing to God. If you keep sinning, the gracious and restraining influences of the Holy Spirit will be withdrawn. You will lose your enjoyment of religion and will fall into other sins; you may even become a backslider. How many have been caught by this snare of the devil: “It is only a little sin; not quite right, but we need not be so particular.” Abstain from all appearance of evil. – 1 Thess. 5:22
Never shirk your cross — carry it willingly. “The cross is not greater than His grace.” God’s will is best for you. “My Jesus, as Thou wilt. Oh, may Thy will be mine!” Be patient in tribulation (Rom. 12:12; Heb. 12:5-13; 1 Pet. 4:12-14). Rejoice in the Lord always (Phil. 4:4). Speak evil of no man (Eph. 4:31-32; Tit. 3:2). Love your enemies (Mt. 5:44-45). Overcome evil with good (Rom. 12:19-21). Grieve not the Holy Spirit (Eph. 4:30). Be led by, walk in, and be filled with the Spirit (Rom. 8:14; Gal. 5:16, 25; Eph. 5:18). Walk in love (Jn. 15:12; Eph. 5:1-2). Be patient with one another (Col. 3:12-14). Press forward, always looking unto Jesus for His grace and strength (Phil. 3:13-14; Heb. 12:1). Without His grace you can do nothing; with it, you can do all things (Phil. 4:13). Paul did not live – Christ lived in Him (Gal. 2:20). His grace is sufficient; He is with you always. – Mt. 28:18-20
God’s love for you should motivate you to love Him supremely and to live for His glory (1 Jn. 4:10, 19). Think about everything you have just read often and very carefully. – Anon.
