What You Need To Know

There is an all-powerful and eternal GOD, who created the world in which we live. When God made the first man and woman He gave them the power and the freedom to either obey or disobey His will. They disobeyed it and committed sin, and became depraved in their natures; and their depravity has been passed on to every person from that time forward. This depravity makes it easy for people to think evil thoughts and do evil things (commit sins). The Bible says that all people (including you) have sinned. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). The Bible also says that the penalty for sin is death. “The wages (penalty) of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23a). Eternal death is the final penalty for sin. God is really serious about sin. He has made it clear in the Bible that all unrepentant sinners will be eternally punished for their sins in the next life (Rev. 20:11-15; 21:8). But you don’t have to undergo future punishment! Because God loves you (but hates your sins), He sent His Son JESUS into the world to die a sacrificial death for the sins of all people, including your sins. Jesus took the punishment for sin that you deserve by His death on a wooden cross (Mt. 27:29-36). Because of His death, your sins can be forgiven, and you can receive eternal life instead of having to face eternal death!

If you truly want God to forgive your sins, you must then be willing to forsake them. You must also want Jesus to become your Lord and Savior. Just ask God, in the Name of Jesus, to forgive your sins, and believe that He will forgive them. The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, he (God, through Jesus) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). You will be spiritually born of God’s Spirit, the HOLY SPIRIT (John 3:1-7). God will sanctify you by His Spirit, who will live in you. The Holy Spirit, in accordance with God’s Word (the Holy Bible) will change you from the inside out into a true Christian. “God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth” (2 Thess. 2:13b). The Holy Spirit will help you love God with all your heart. By God’s grace you will be able to live a life that will bring glory to Jesus.

Be baptized with water as soon as possible in the name of the FATHER, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT, as a sign of your repentance and new life in Jesus (Mt. 28:19). Secure a Bible or New Testament (if possible) and attend a church where the Bible is believed and taught.

Christ died for sinners. Christ died for you.
