Only God Can Satisfy Your Soul

“For he (God) satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” – Psalm 107:9

“And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.” – Isaiah 58:11

God created you with a soul — that part of you that hungers for something. You may try to satisfy the hunger of your soul with the things of the world, but the fact remains that your soul will never be truly satisfied with anything except the One Who created it. Your soul must have God for its peace and contentment. True happiness is found in God alone, and in doing His will.

If you turn your life over to God, through Jesus Christ, He will renew you from the inside out through the power of His Holy Spirit, and you will become a new person in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will produce spiritual fruit in your soul. The Bible says that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance (Galatians 5:22-23a). There is simply no other way in life to find rest for your soul. Surrender your life to Jesus Christ and “taste and see that the LORD is good” (Psalm 34:8a). God can save you and wholly sanctify you and fill you with the fruit of His Spirit, and your soul will become exceedingly satisfied.

“There remaineth therefore a rest (for the soul) to the people of God.” – Hebrews 4:9

Note: Even though we can experience inner peace in Jesus Christ, the Bible does not promise us that we shall be exempt from turmoil in this present evil world. To the contrary, the Bible says that “we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” – Acts 14:22b
